Relevant backlinks of course will surely give you a high ranking position in search engine. But are common users aware of that? It only means, give extra exposure to your site and you'll receive more visitors that is equals to 'more sales.'

How good are your backlinks? You should check it. If these links work against your site, think again. Analyze if these sites linking to you greatly affects your position in search engine, it's about time to avoid these links and start planning your next move.

Would you believe that some link building methods you are using can seriously damage your business? One of the best simple mistakes to happen is overlooking or misuse of anchor text with your backlinks, simply forgetting your targeted keywords and boom! you've lost a very important customer who happened to click your site and giving him/her a page error.

Another spam tactics is buying of links. Well, to consider, it's one way of getting permanent links to your neighbor for a long period of time. But be careful in dealing with bunch of affiliate links - they can be harmful in such ways and soon will lose your potential as 'relevant' site.

How to do Digital Cleansing

Digital cleansing is the process of making yourself free from any technologies or any online services. Not everyone can think of this because they can't help it but to let themselves get pulled. We are exposed to too much information or the opposite, we are revealing so much of ourselves that if we will try to realize, it's not helping us at all. There are so many things bombarding us but not all of them make sense. And even though they are small dose of group of information, they still affect us largely with what we do everyday. And this is why we need digital cleansing.

On computers, it is called the defragmentation of the brain. It works by taking splinters of information stored in various locations and consolidating them so that they’re in the same place on the drive and thus easier to access in larger chunks. We can use hard drive fragmentation as an example. Our brains continuously processes bursts of information over the years. And this became worse with the rise of Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites plus the social acceptance of texting in replacement for phone calls.

But through digital cleansing, we can filter our once polluted brains. We need to do defragmenting with our mental and psychological parts to be able to participate well in many aspects of life. You don't have to do it regularly. This is just like a short break, which is undoubtedly necessary to anyone.

Here are some ways on how you can achieve digital cleansing:

* use only laptop or desktop for emails
* you should only use your cellphones in making important calls, if you have to make a reply, use voice calls. Refuse from texting or making emails
* Stop (momentarily) the use of Twitter, Facebook or other social networking sites, this includes reading and status posting
* refuse visiting gossip and other entertainment sites, only those you think can help you with your work or studies

This may be difficult to achieve, especially if it is what you grew up with. And if you're working in an SEO company, going offline is probably the last thing you will do. But still, there are offline promotions that you can use to continue with your job. Since internet is fastest way to climb to the market, we won't be surprise if didn't try digital cleansing. Because it still depends on you, on what kind of information you are going to consume.
