Facebook Visibility: Live on News Feed

Facebook announced that they made changes on the news feed, putting more emphasis on content quality and visibility of your site's content. That's interesting. You will now see the 'compact' view of how many shared your articles or clicked on the news feed. Another thing is, when you clicked on the article you will see additional references below for you to read on the news feed, interesting!

How to Spot Bad Blog Comments

The sorts of things that I would start to worry about is it's better to often leave your name so someone knows who they are dealing with, rather than "cheap study tutorials" or "fake driver's license", or whatever the name of your business is, often that will get a chillier reception than if you show up with your name.

If your primary link building strategy is to leave comments all over the web, to the degree that you have a huge fraction of your link portfolio comments, and no real people linking to you, then at some point that can be considered a link scheme. At a very high level we reserve the right to take action on any sort of deceptive or manipulative link schemes that we consider to be distorting or rankings.

Anything you need to know about Google PageRank Update

You are wondering or a bit curious of what is Google PageRank all about. Aside from the tool that you can see from your browser, or a color white bar that is 0 and green shade from 1-10. And bloggers are asked if this is important for your blogging?

PageRank determine the value of a website based on the number of quality links are pointing to your site. After 10 months, Google brings back the PageRank update so you can check whether you gain or lose the rank.

Why isn't your site's PR changing? Here's the answer from Matt Cutts.

Huge amount of links on page can still be considered as Spammy, here's why

How Many Links Should We Have on a Page?

“It used to be the case that Googlebot and our indexing system would truncate at 100 or 101k and anything beyond that wouldn’t even get indexed. And what we did is we said, ‘Okay, if the page is 101k or 100k, it’s reasonable to expect roughly one link per kilobyte and therefore something like 100 links per page.’ So that was in our technical guidelines and we said this is what we recommend, and a lot of people assumed that if they had 102 links or something like that, that we would view it as spam and take action. But that was just kind of a rough guideline.”

“The other thing is that it can start to annoy users, or start to look spammy if you have tons and tons and tons of links. So we are willing to take action on the web spam side if we see so many links that looks really, really spammy. But if you compare our old guideline with 100 links and you look at what the web looks like now, it is quite common to have two or three or 400 links on the page, as long as the page is long, it has value add, there are substantial amounts of substance and real stuff on that page.”

So, review your website and check your links on each pages.

Another tip is always visit your Google Webmaster Central, they will send notifications if you violated their rule of thumb :)

Over 2 Millions Login Credentials were Compromised, Change your Passwords!

It was reported that about 2 million login credentials were compromised today such as Facebook, Google and Twitter. It was said that a botnet controller called "PONY" was leaked online and has able to steal all your credentials.

So, the best thing to do is make a hard combination of words and numbers or even include a punctuation marks!

~1,580,000 website login credentials stolen
~320,000 email account credentials stolen
~41,000 FTP account credentials stolen
~3,000 Remote Desktop credentials stolen
~3,000 Secure Shell account credentials stolen

How to make a strong password:
Start with one or two numbers
add a word, make at least one character uppercase, perhaps misspell it
add a punctuation mark #$@&*() etc
add another word, same rules as above, make the two words 100% unrelated
end with one or more numbers, and another punctuation mark
Example : 49AlleygattoR+LeNtilS12#

What is Content Stitching? Is it allowed to post or quote small portions of content? Here's the Answer.

If you are new to blogging and lazy to think of topics to write but instead has plans of 'copying' small portion of content from different websites to come up for a new post then you are in danger!

Why? Here's an explanation from Matt Cutts:

Matthew "Matt" Cutts currently heads the Webspam team at Google. He works with the Search Quality team on search engine optimization issues. (Wikipedia)

Youtube: Work at Home Pinas the Seminar

For starters, we are bringing a learning activity closer to their backyards of Quezon City residents, as opposed to the inconvenience of Makati CBD, Bonifacio Global City and Ortigas Center.

In addition, the presenters are veterans in their respective fields of at-home entrepreneurship. Their expertise developed through the years, the hands-on experiences of their entrepreneurial path, and the stories they can share about the ups and downs of their chosen career, are what makes this seminar a must-attend event.

Therefore, the seminar is for all budding entrepreneurs whose common intent is to establish a small office, home office (SOHO) and acquire the knowhow, materials and equipment to sustain a successful work-at-home environment, that results in a thriving and long-term business.

This is not just about blogging and social media. The objective is to let YOU leave with a sense of real-life direction and comprehension in what at-home entrepreneurship is all about, and the motivation to start right away. - http://www.facebook.com/events/472826759499650/
